Ovodonation Treatment

Ovodonation pregnancy is an Assisted Reproduction procedure in which fertilization is carried out outside the body, that is, through In Vitro Fertilization. In this treatment the eggs come from an anonymous donor, while the sperm can also come from a donor or from the couple.

This treatment is ideal for single mothers-to-be, for heterosexual couples as well as for homosexual couples.

What is the probability of pregnancy with Ovodonation?

The success rate of In Vitro Fertilization by Ovodonation is one of the highest in Assisted Reproduction. Since the eggs are donated by fertile and healthy women, it is easier to achieve pregnancy. The success rate is 56.8% and it should be noted that there are no major differences between the data of women with different age ranges. Becoming a mother is just a step away!

We explain the oocyte donation treatment step by step

Before choosing any treatment, it is necessary to arrange an initial consultation with our doctor. Whether you are a couple, or you come as a single mother, your medical history will be analyzed and any necessary tests will be requested. Once the doctor has given the go-ahead, our patient care team will contact you to inform you of your budget.

In order to choose the best quality eggs, donors are subjected to exhaustive examinations where, in addition to making sure that they do not carry hereditary diseases or gynecological pathologies, the suitability of their eggs will be evaluated.

Likewise, when choosing the eggs for each case, blood compatibility and genetic similarity will be taken into account.

Before fertilization begins, the recipient receives hormonal treatment to prepare the uterus for the embryo transfer. This phase includes: ultrasounds, estrogen and progesterone medication and several blood tests.

Once the recipient’s endometrium has been prepared, In Vitro Fertilization will be performed with the selected eggs and sperm from the partner or donor.

This fertilization can be performed using traditional IVF, where the sperm are deposited in the same culture dish as the eggs and the natural fertilization process is simulated.

On the other hand, it can be performed by the ICSI method, an injection of a single sperm into the cytoplasm of each egg. Each sperm is selected through the IMSI technique (Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection), which allows visualization of the sperm at 20 times magnification in order to select the most suitable sperm for fertilization. Once selected, it is prepared in the ZYMOT microfluidic chamber.

Once this phase is completed, the development of the embryos is observed by time-lapse. This method captures images of the early stages of their life and allows the selection of the embryos with the highest implantation potential.

When there is a risk of implantation failure or in the case of women with repeated miscarriages or women over 40 years of age, PGD (Preimplantational Genetic Diagnosis) is performed in order to select the embryos with the best chances of gestation. After being selected, they are transferred to the uterus during the blastocyst stage, which is the natural phase prior to implantation.

After this, a pregnancy test must be performed within 15 days. If the test is positive, an ultrasound will be done to confirm that… you are pregnant!
