Embryo freezing involves storing the embryos which are not transferred to the womb during an IVF cycle in liquid nitrogen (-196ºC). Having good frozen embryos available offers couples certain advantages, including: not having to repeat ovulation induction, increased chances of pregnancy and lower costs, as the thaw cycle is much less expensive.

However, at FIVMadrid we only freeze embryos which meet strict criteria for morphological quality and therefore have high implantation potential.

At FIVMadrid, the post-thaw embryo survival rate is over 80% and the pregnancy rate is 40% per cycle.

If you become pregnant, your pregnancy can be considered a normal pregnancy. It is advisable to notify your obstetrician that you conceived using assisted reproduction techniques.
